Not All BBQ Grill Parts Created Equal
There are distinct differences between charcoal and gas grills such as the type of fuel used to create the fire to cook and even the BBQ grill parts. Charcoal grills are fairly simple things and you usually only have to replace the grill racks every so often, especially if you take good care of the outside pit itself. However, gas grills are a bit different and have a number of different BBQ grill parts that may fail and require replacement.
Gas Grill Parts
Gas grills require propane tanks for their fuel and where there are extra attachments for the barbecue pit, there are BBQ grill parts that will eventually need replacing. For instance, a gas grill will not light when you turn on the propane gas unless you have an igniter that creates the spark to ignite the emission of gas from the grill.
The control knob that controls the rate the gas is issued forth from the propane tanks to the grill rack area may break requiring a replacement. BBQ grill parts may be needed like the valve or clamp that is used to release or stem off the flow of propane gas that feeds into the barbecue pit itself. The heating plates that disburse the heat from the flame could break requiring replace as well.
The cooking grill grids are common BBQ grill parts that need replacing, especially if you are not diligent about scrubbing off the cooked-on debris. This stuck-on debris and lack of cleaning can cause rust which eventually eats away the cooking grids until they crumble beyond repair. Some gas grills have rotisserie or warming racks which could fail at some point necessitating BBQ grill parts to be ordered for a repair job.
The thermometer and glass within the lid that allows you to check your food’s progress could break but luckily these are easy fixes with the right BBQ grill parts. Some grills may have a BBQ grill light which allows you to cook at night and if you are not careful could break if not handled correctly. Of course, you can also add onto your gas grill with such items as a storage rack, trays on the ends that flip up and even rolling wheels for greater portability.
When you are shopping for a barbecue pit, consider the maintenance you will have to perform and do what you can care-wise to avoid having to buy BBQ grill parts as replacements. However, you cannot always avoid repairs especially if you have had your grilling equipment far beyond what the limited warranty covers. However, you will want to shop around for your BBQ grill parts as the pricing may vary from store to store by as much as 40% or more.
