Choosing The Right Barbecue Smoker Grill

I have been a big fan of cooking on charcoal for many years, but to do it right you really need to choose the right barbecue smoker grill. There are many different options and types of barbecue smoker grills out there so you need to make the right choice and get the smoker BBQ grill that is going to work best for you.

The first thing you need to consider is what and how much you will be cooking. If you plan to only cook burgers and family dinners, then you will probably need a small sized barbecue smoker grill with both grilling and smoking options. If you do not plan to do any long and slow smoking, a Weber grill is perfect for this kind of cooking. While you can use a Weber grill as a barbecue smoker grill, I prefer to use them for grilling needs.

Now if you truly are looking to do slow, smoked barbecue there is only one company that I like to look at, and that is Brinkman smoker.

Why Brinkmann Barbecue Smoker Grills

The reason I choose Brinkmann as the superior choice for barbecue smoker grills is because of their outstanding price. While some smokers and grills can run into the hundreds and even thousands of dollars very quickly, Brinkmann makes some barbecue smoker grills for less then $50. These are usually dual smoker and BBQ grills so that you can both smoke or grill your meat.

If you are wondering about capacity on the fifty dollar range grills, do not worry about it. Most of the barbecue smoker grills in this category can hold up to fifty pounds of meat on two separate racks. This should be more than enough for you to smoke meat for whatever occasion you may have going on.

One of the things I most enjoy smoking in my Brinkmann barbecue smoker grill is turkey. I just take an entire turkey drop it into the smoker for a couple of hours and have perfect meat every time. The thing is that you have to be careful to cook the meat at the right temperature in your grill. This can be the hardest skill for people new to smoking to master.

There are many different types of smokers you can get, but charcoal is by far the cheapest and best tasting. It is however the most difficult to manage. Smoking meat in a charcoal BBQ grill requires patients and careful monitoring. You can not just start a fire, toss the meat on and hope for the best. The thing that is most difficult with these grills is keeping the fire and temperature very even. Once you master this skill though, you can make the world’s greatest BBQ.
